Thank you Lord for making me able to stay on guard for my 13-month old baby who loves to climb our stairs up to the second floor. :)
Today's verse:
"I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." - Galatians 2:20 NIV
This is my dad's life verse. My dad was a pastor of the United Methodist Church for 47 years. He just retired from the ministry last May (2014).
I can say I got a lot from my dad. My looks, hair, hands, feet, singing ability, and intelligence are from him. (Though my mom is smarter, haha!) I inherited my father's faith, and, through this faith I came to know and accepted Christ as my personal Lord and Savior.
Not denying, I even got my nice and not-so-nice attitudes from him.
Sometimes I get impatient. Sometimes I think wrongly about other people. Sometimes I put the blame on others when things go wrong. Sometimes I am selfish. I am not perfect. But today's verse gives me hope that I have been crucified in Christ. My old self is gone, and He now lives in me. Everyday I can start anew with Him. I can put away my not-so-nice attitudes and act like my Father in heaven.
Thank you, Lord, for crucifying in my place. Help me, by Your Spirit, to live for you each day. In Jesus' name. Amen.
